The 5S 15A Lithium Battery BMS Protection Board is designed to protect and manage lithium battery packs consisting of five cells or cell groups connected in series.
When used with standard 3.7V nominal Li-ion cells, a 5S pack has a nominal voltage of approximately 18.5V and reaches 21V when fully charged.
The BMS provides protection against overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent and short circuit. Certain versions are rated for up to 15A continuous discharge current and approximately 25A peak current.
Important: A BMS is not a replacement for a proper Li-ion charger. A suitable charger regulated to 21V should be used for a 5S battery pack. Specifications such as cell balancing, charging current and board dimensions can vary between 5S 15A versions.
