The 3S 12.6V Passive Balancer is designed to balance the voltage of three series-connected Li-Ion cell groups. It is suitable for 3S battery packs with an 11.1V nominal voltage and 12.6V full-charge voltage, helping reduce voltage differences between the individual cell groups during charging.
Full Description
The 3S 12.6V Passive Balancer uses passive cell-balancing technology to help maintain a more consistent voltage between the three series-connected cell groups in a lithium-ion battery pack.
Instead of transferring energy between cells, passive balancing works by bleeding a small amount of excess energy from the higher-voltage cell group through resistive circuitry. This makes it suitable for correcting relatively small voltage differences between properly matched cells.
It is intended for standard 3S Li-Ion packs, which have an approximate 11.1V nominal voltage and reach 12.6V at full charge, corresponding to approximately 4.2V per cell group.
Note: Passive balancing current varies by board design. Different 3S balancing boards may provide approximately 35mA, 50–60mA, 100mA, or other values, so the exact balancing current should be confirmed from the specific board version.
